There's so many things people don't tell you about being pregnant -- especially the weird bodily stuff. And even after you give birth, there are still surprises to behold. Example: breastfeeding.
In the media, images of breastfeeding women often appear idyllic: Mom feeds her swaddled baby, there's a halo behind her head and a Mona Lisa smile of contentment on her face. But in reality, breastfeeding can be a painful process that leaves Mom with dry, cracked nipples.
Just when the sores begin to heal, your little one feeds again and effectively tears up the scabs that have formed. I think the word we are looking for here is YOUCH!
There are few solutions that can help aid Mom's tender nips, but no product on the pregnancy skin care market that is quite like The Spoiled Mama's Nipstick sore nipple cream . (You can also refer to it as "Wonderstick" since it does so many other things, too.)
WHY NIPSTICK?
Nipstick helps heal those chaffed suckers with all-natural ingredients like calendula, cocoa butter and shea butter. Many existing nipple creams use lanolin, an oil derived from sheep skin and a big no-no in our Spoiled Mama philosophy.
While lanolin can be considered a "natural" product, the sheep come from fields that are often sprayed with pesticides. And why would we want to introduce those chemicals into our babies' systems as we breastfeed? (We'll let them ruin their bodies with junk food and partying much later in life!) Since this sore nipple cream is 100% organic and vegan, it is 100% safe for your little ones to ingest.
WHY THE TUBE?
We developed Nipstick with a push-up tube because reducing contamination is a major concern, especially when your sucker goes directly into your babe's mouth. With a simple push of the finger, one can easily dispense product and apply it directly on to the nipple: no fuss, no mess, no hand-washing. The nipple butter melts directly upon contact, so it glides on smoothly.
BOO-BOOS & DIAPER RASHES BE GONE!
Around our house, Nipstick is also referred to as the Boo-Boo Stick. It's ultra healing properties (organic calendula, plaintain leaf and marshmallow root) help relieve sores and minor cuts. In short, the nipple cream also acts as an all-natural Neosporin!
We've also used it on our son to help heal diaper rashes. Diaper rashes are part and parcel of your baby care, especially in the first year or so of your baby's life. According to BabyCenter.com, it can be caused by anything from leaving a dirty diaper on too long (wetness), antibiotics, or being introduced to new or solid foods.
To help heal your babe's rash, we recommend rubbing the cracked nipples cream salve onto the affected area. Since it does not act like a barrier like most traditional diaper rash creams, we've found the best way to use the butter is to let it air dry on your babe.
After a recent diaper change, clean the area and apply the Nipstick. Allow your babe to crawl around freely for awhile and coo over his/her cute little tushy as the nipple cream is fully absorbed. Once this happens, give your babe a fresh diaper.
