Whether it's a day or week-long excursion, why not treat yourself to a babymoon?
First comes love, then comes marriage, then comes the babymoon, and after -- the baby carriage! This week we want to take a look at "the babymoon" and what it offers expectant parents.
Babymoon According to Wikipedia
According to Wikipedia, the babymoon as we understand it today is a new concept that premiered in the last decade. Previously it was used to describe the time parents spend cooing over their new babe; however, the term (redefined by clever travel agents) now takes the focus off the baby and offers expectant parents a little "us" time before the arrival of their new -- crying, sleepless, pooping -- bundle of joy.
These getaways usually include lavish pampering packages from hotels and resorts, like the Bundle of Joy Babymoon Package from Westin Kierland Resort & Spa in Scottsdale, AZ (who will be generously hosting us for three days next month -- hurrah!). Their babymoon package includes in-room treats like make your own ice cream sundaes, couples massage and a "24-hour cravings chef" to cater to your every whim. Pickles and chocolate ice cream at 3 a.m. -- sure, why not?!
Since we'll be bringing five-year-old Ella, they also have a kiddy daycare service so mama and papa can have some quiet time. For more information on finding the babymoon of your dreams, head on over to Babymoon Finder , which lists pamper packages for expectant moms and their partners throughout the U.S. and beyond.
