2015 Holiday beauty tips to get you glowing

Last week we shared our list of top winter beauty blunders, but today we want to share our favorite holiday beauty tips & tricks.

Since we're in the midst of holiday office parties, Secret Santa exchanges and family gatherings, it's the perfect time to experiment with new makeup trends and tips to get you glowin'!

Try this holiday makeup trend if...

You're dying for dewy, flawless skin.

Moisturized, plump skin is a sign of youth and health. To get a natural, dewy finish on your skin, simply mix a pearly luminizer into your foundation. Look for a fine sparkly formula to avoid looking like a 13-year-old girl at her first dance.

To get the dew, do this: 1) Use a primer under your makeup. A great primer helps makeup last longer, but creates a smooth finish for your foundation as well. 2) Follow by adding a pump of your favorite luminizer to your foundation. Dot all over face and blend with foundation brush or beauty blender. 3) With a fluffy brush, dust your face lightly with powder to set your makeup. Do so with a light hand, so you don't mistakenly cover up your dewy finish.

Pro-tip: Try adding a dash of luminizer to your decollete for an extra hint of sparkle. For an all-over, natural sheen, try The Spoiled Mama's Bump Gloss pregnancy stretch mark oil, made with more than 10 oils that hydrates and gives skin a healthy, subtle glow.

You're all about the red lips.

Classic red lips never go out of style, and there's a reason why: they're easy, sexy and add sophistication to any look! When shopping for the perfect red lippie, consider your undertones. Blue-based cherry reds, cranberry, and wine shades contrast fantastically with fair skin, while bright orange-reds and deep maroons flatter medium to dark complexions.

To get the perfect red lips: 1) Prep your smackers by creating a smooth, even finish. Red lipstick tends to cling to any dry bits, so gently exfoliate your lips with a damp wash cloth or toothbrush. Apply a layer of lip balm and let the formula sink in. 2) With a red lip liner close to your lipstick shade, carefully line lips and color in the entire area. This creates a base that will help your lipstick last longer. 3) Precision is everything! Using a lip brush, fill in your lips with your lip color. Smack, and voila! A perfect holiday pout.

Pro-tip: For extra dry lips, exfoliate with a gentle sugar scrub like The Spoiled Mama's Indulge Body Polish. Packed in a blend of cold-pressed oils, this organic sugar scrub for stretch marks works great on the lips as well! Plus, its peppermint vanilla scent makes your pout even more kissable. Pucker up!

holiday-strobing-how-to-makeup

You want to sparkle like a disco ball.

Contouring has been huge, thanks to Kim Kardashian and her makeup artist Mario Dedivanovic. However, the buzz this season has all been all about strobing, which simply focuses on highlighting the highest points of your face. The end result is a very pretty, beautiful glow that's perfect for the holiday season. We love this technique because it's super FAST and takes minimal makeup skills.

To get strobin': 1) On freshly moisturized skin, apply your foundation. If you using a liquid highlighter, use a liquid foundation; if it's a powder highlighter, opt for a powder foundation. 2) Apply your highlighter on the highest points of your face (cheekbones, along your temples, down the bridge of your nose, below your brow bone,  corners of your eyes and above your cupid's bow). Apply with a light hand (you can always add more later), and keep your highlighting in these strategic places. 3) With a fluffy brush, dust your face with a light face powder to set your makeup.

Pro-Tip: To give your makeup extra staying powder, The Spoiled Mama's BalanC toner is perfect to spritz on. Infused with silica, this pregnancy safe acne toner helps control oiliness while setting your makeup with an extra dose of hydration.
