Third Trimester Shopping Checklist
Weeks 27-40Â
With the end of your pregnancy in sight, you may experiencing a little anxiety over the next few months. But don't worry Mama, that's natural. Now is the time to tie up loose ends, and prepare for delivery and baby's welcoming. If you haven't done so, check out our First Trimester Shopping Checklist or Second Trimester Shopping Checklist to make sure you've got everything you need!
Nursing bras and tops
If you're planning on breastfeeding, it's time to shop for some comfy nursing bras and tops. Find bras with good support, aren't too tight (as your breasts will soon be engorged with milk) and will provide you with easy, practical use when feeding time comes. Be sure to tuck these into your hospital delivery bag -- you'll be needing them soon!
Breastfeeding nipple butter
Many first-time mothers are surprised at how powerful their babes may suckle. Sore, chapped nipples are a reality, and they can lead to much pain to new moms. Prepare yourself with a lanolin-free nipple cream that can alleviate pain and expedite healing. Look for all-natural formulas since your precious baby will be putting your nipple directly into his/her mouth.Â
Herbal tea to aid with milk production
Healthy lactation is vital if you're breastfeeding. If you need help producing milk, reach for a 100% organic breastfeeding tea with proven herbal galactagogues. Ingredients such as fennel and fenugreek helps stimulate and increase blood flow to your mammary glands, thus promoting breast milk supply.
Belly support band
As your baby drops into position for a grand entrance, you may feel an equally grand pressure in your pelvis. You can alleviate some of it by slipping on a maternity support band. Glamorous it is not, but it helps eliminate back, leg, and abdominal pain. Plus, you can wear it discreetly under most clothes.
A toxin-free stretch mark belly butter or oil
Skin care is more important than ever as your body continues rapidly growing. Reduce your chances of pregnancy or postpartum stretch marks by using a safe, tummy butter and/or pregnancy oil every day. Apply at least twice a day to give it the essential vitamins and elasticity it needs.
Baby feeding supplies
Time to stock up on bibs, nursing bras, pads, bottle and more! As new parents, you may underestimate how many back-up items you'll need.
Diaper supplies
Your baby will easily go through 10-12 diapers a day within the first few weeks. We know what you're thinking: that's a lot! This is a great time to fill up on diaper necessities, such as wipes and creams. Make sure you have a comfortable, spacious diaper bag with lots of pockets and easy access to compartments.
Baby carrier
We love our baby carriers! It's a hands-free way to carry your baby while you go on walks, run light errands and do daily activities. Many tots love feeling the closeness of being on your chest, letting them bond with you while you move around.Â
Stroller
A stroller is a must-have for any parent, but the market is vast. Do your research to figure which model will be most useful to you, keeping in mind the activities you'll be doing and the terrain you'll be traveling.
Car seat
If you're in the United States, you must get a car seat for your little one. Ensure your package arrives home safely from the hospital by researching your options now and finding the best fit for your family (and car).Â
